My approach

It is not only whether you can move, but how you move.

The quality, ease, coordination and organisation of a movement, and the amount of effort it costs you, tell us far more than whether the movement is possible at all.

01

Awareness

We begin by noticing how you actually move and organise yourself, rather than how you assume you do.

02

Understanding

Habitual patterns, adaptations and restrictions become recognisable once attention is brought to them.

03

Exploration

Through hands-on work, gentle guided movement and conversation, we explore other possibilities.

04

Change

New options appear: more comfortable, better coordinated and more efficient ways of moving.

What a session may include

  • Hands-on work: gentle, precise, never forceful.
  • Guided movement, often small and slow enough to notice.
  • Conversation about what you feel and what you are looking for.
  • Observation of how you stand, walk, sit and turn.
  • Simple movement practices to continue at home.

The balance between these changes according to the person and the session. Nothing here is a protocol; it is a conversation in movement.

Foundation

The Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method was developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, a physicist, engineer and Judo master. He explored the relationship between movement, learning and the nervous system.

It is a gentle movement-based approach that develops awareness of how we move, not simply what we are able to do.

By paying attention to the quality, ease and organisation of movement, we can recognise habitual patterns and inhibitions that may have developed through injury, stress or experience. Exploring new possibilities can help us move with greater ease, comfort and efficiency.

The method works through the relationship between movement, sensation and the nervous system, helping us develop new ways of sensing and organising ourselves.

It is an important foundation of my experience. My practice today is broader, drawing also on developmental work, bodywork, meditation and movement studies.

“The lessons stay with me to this day.”

I have been an opera singer for the past 25 years. Naomi taught me the connection between proper posture and a better, fuller, and freer vocal production. Beyond being an exceptional teacher, she is also a teacher for life. There seems to be no limit to her professional knowledge, her dedication, and the integrity with which she works.
